My dog is in training to help me as a therapy dog. I am a counselor specializing in treating PTSD clients, and he is an enormous help in my office. The private instruction I had with Barbara, helped us learn how to acclimate him to the office, how to be a good companion in the therapy room, and finally, how to respond to distraught clients. Now, he welcomes people into the space, goes to their side or on their laps if they invite him and helps people calm and center into the moment, and escape their terrors and flashbacks long enough to find ways to recreate their lives.
